Character - Oblivion
Abaddon
Abaddon is a fallen mythic antagonist whose presence gives Oblivion its sense of dread, corruption, and world-scale consequence.
Overview
Abaddon is presented publicly as a once-exalted figure who becomes a central threat to Aarda. His role is less about simple villainy and more about control, fear, and the collapse of trust between power and purpose.
Narrative Design Purpose
The character is built to contrast Gryff's uncertainty with a force that feels ancient, certain, and terrifying. Abaddon helps define the world's mythic scale while giving the story a clear antagonist pressure without revealing late-story outcomes.
Public Lore Notes
- Abaddon draws on fallen-angel and dark-lord archetypes while remaining tied to the specific mythology of Aarda.
- His design language centers on beauty, ruin, authority, and corruption.
- Public content should avoid exact history, final confrontations, future forms, and hidden continuity.
